Overview

FormatFlow (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our image conversion service at formatflow.io.

The most important thing to know: your image files are processed entirely in your web browser using WebAssembly (WASM) technology. Files are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.

Information We Collect

Your Image Files

We do not collect, upload, store, or have access to any images you convert. All file processing happens locally in your browser via client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device.

Analytics Data

We use Google Analytics and Plausible Analytics to understand how our service is used. This includes:

  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Conversion formats used (e.g. HEIC to JPG)
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Approximate geographic location (country/region)
  • Referral source

This data is anonymous and cannot identify you personally.

Account Data (Pro Users)

If you create a Pro account, we collect your email address and payment information. Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number.

Cookies

We use cookies for:

  • Analytics (Google Analytics, Plausible)
  • Authentication session (Pro users)
  • Freemium usage tracking (localStorage, not transmitted)
  • Advertising (Google AdSense, for non-Pro users)

Advertising

Free users may see advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve personalized ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings. Pro subscribers do not see any advertisements.

Data Retention

Since image files are never uploaded, there is no file data to retain. Analytics data is retained according to the policies of our analytics providers. Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted upon request.

If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time
